Our next production is 'The Secret Garden'. This magical family musical, based on the book by Frances Hodgson Burnett follows the story of Mary, a recently orphaned child sent to live with her uncle, Archibald Craven, in his manor on the Yorkshire moors. Mary's uncle is as sad as the manor seems to be, constantly haunted by the memory of his dead wife and unable to let her go, or to bear to spend time with his ill son, Colin. As Mary explores the manor she comes across a secret garden that had once belonged to her aunt and begins, with some help from the maid Martha and her nature loving brother Dickon, to restore the garden and gradually restores the lives of those around her too.
This performance takes place in the Old English Garden at Elvaston Castle and will be an experience not to miss.
